Faculty
Steve Easton is a trial lawyer and award-winning teacher who has excelled at trial. His focus and energy translate into entertaining and practical presentations.
He served as the U.S. Attorney for the District of North Dakota and has tried cases in civil and criminal courts. Easton is a professor at the University of Wyoming College of Law. While serving as a law professor and dean, he continues to hone his litigation skills by actively trying cases. He was a professor at the University of Missouri Columbia School of Law. Easton was a partner in the firm of Pearce & Durick, where he focused on product liability and insurance defense.
The Pound Civil Justice Institute gave Easton the Richard S. Jacobson Award for excellence in teaching trial advocacy and the American Inns of Court gave Easton the Warren E. Burger Prize for scholarship concerning legal excellence, civility, ethics and professionalism. He wrote Attacking Adverse Experts, How to Win Jury Trials: Building Credibility with Judges and Jurors, and Problems, Cases and Materials in Professional Responsibility. He has been published in a number of popular and legal publications. Easton earned his B.A. and J.D. from Dickinson State University.
