The Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs is Dr.Yogi Shah. Dr. Shah was a geriatrician at the Broadlawns for three years before joining the organization. Prior to joining the medical staff at Broadlawns, he served as the Associate Dean of Global Health at Des Moines University and was the founding physician for the Des Moines University Memory Clinic.
Bombay University in India gave Dr. Shah his Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his residency training in Family Medicine and his fellowship in Geriatrics at the Mayo Clinic. He is certified in family medicine, geriatrics, Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. Shah has a Masters in Public Health.

Peter K. Hoftiezer practices in Iowa. He completed his undergraduate medical training at A T Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine after obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics from The Ohio State University. He completed his family medicine residency training in Kirksville, Missouri. He earned a Master’s in Medical Education from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine after completing his Geriatrics fellowship at Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania. He teaches one day a week in the family medicine residency program in Kirksville.
